About this event

Do you feel like AI is EVERYWHERE?! Would you like to take part in a discussion about avoiding AI? Whatever happened to the old fashioned version of Google? Maybe I don't need an AI overview for everything. Sometimes, AI tools can be helpful, but most of the time, I am perfectly happy to do things the same way that I have been doing them for the past 20 years. I rarely want help with writing an email, and I certainly don't need every PDF summarized. Is it possible to turn off AI? Yes, in most cases you can turn off or avoid using these tools. If you are interested in hearing some of the arguments for breaking up with Big Tech join our Emerging Technologies Librarian for this workshop. Librarians across the nation are presenting alternatives and discussing the library value of intellectual freedom. We will also suggest web browsers and other tools that place a high priority on protecting your privacy.
