About this event

Come and celebrate Frodo and Bilbo Baggin's birthdays with the Idea Lab by making your own hobbit hole wreath! September 22nd is recognized as Hobbit Day, commemorating the birthdays of two of fantasy's most famous heroes and the start of J.R.R Tolkien's epic work, The Lord of the Rings. To celebrate, the Idea Lab is making wreaths inspired by the hobbit holes these heroes called home. We will have wooden circles that are cut and engraved to look like hobbit doors. Paint your door and add colorful designs using our acrylic paint markers. Then choose from a selection of artificial greenery to add around your door to make the wreath part of the design. Interested in learning more about J.R.R Tolkien or his works? We will have a selection of books pulled from our collection that you can choose from and check out with your library card! Want to make something like this again? Get certified to use the Glowforge laser cutter in the Idea Lab! Free. Registration Required. Ages 13 to adult. The class will take place in the Idea Lab's Community Classroom. Children under 15 must be supervised by a guardian. If you think that you will need extra assistance to complete this project, please bring a support person to help you with this class. Related LibGuide: Glowforge Laser Cutter by Jessica Reed
