Knocker Stuffing Event

What's a knocker? A knocker is a knit or crocheted prosthetic breast for people who have had mastectomies. They are given away for free to recipients through an international organization called Knitted Knockers. Knockers fit inside a regular bra (prescription prosthetics require a special bra), are machine washable (prosthetics are not), lightweight and breathable (prosthetics are often heavy and hot), and did we mention free for recipients!? Stitches of Erie has been collecting unstuffed knockers for a couple of months now and they all need stuffing before heading off to area breast cancer centers. On Saturday, September 19th, come to the shop during our open hours (11am-3pm) and stuff a knocker or two. We'll have the empty knockers and plenty of PolyFil. This is a come-and-go event and no stitching skills are needed!
