The Marcellus Shale Coalition, a powerful fossil fuel lobby, is hosting its annual conference at Erie's Bayfront Convention Center Sept 22-24. The Marcellus Shale Coalition, part of the most powerful fossil fuel lobby in the US, is hosting its annual conference at Erie's Bayfront Convention Center Sept 22-24. This year, it is especially important to make our voices heard as there is a 3,200 acre data center being built outside Pittsburgh in Homer City. Once operational, it will include the largest gas-fired plant in the US. West Virginia and Ohio have also experienced increases in fracking as a result of new data center infrastructure. The convention strategizes and lobbies politicians to increase fossil fuel extraction and, this year, quick, quiet builds of data centers. Local Erie environmental groups will be protesting the Marcellus Shale Coalition Conference at Erie's Bayfront Convention Center. Bring your signs and join us in peaceful solidarity to protest the most powerful fossil fuel group in the USA.
